Hello People,

Well tonight there was 4 members present with me, Keith, Alan and Peter. Alex is currently on holiday in camping in Whitby which sounds very nice indeed. We also had a nice surprise in the form of Adrian Hall our old secretary making a one night appearence.

Keith did mention before Adrian arrived that he was coming down for one night and that a couple of weeks ago the club had mentioned the idea of moving the main layout Ramsbottom more futher back towards the wall facing Bury New Road to give more walking space and more space for Bacup Shed…

Well 5 strong men were needed….which we had.. so starting with the right hand side, then the left hand side, then middle. Doing this about 3 times we managed to move the layout around 9 inches futher back. It may not sound alot as keith only wanted 1 or 2 but we managed 9!!. We have kept it off the wall around  2 inches just to stop any damp that may occur. We have noticed that one centre post which is the only one made from wood (rest are metal) has dry rot and will need replacing.

We were very surprised at how easy the layout moved but there were a few creeks and groans but all in all it was ok. Everything was tried and tested….Phew!

The rest of the night was spent putting items and things back into position. We now have plenty of space to work around the layout.

Update on Bacup Shed…

Basically we need more wood which Keith will be aquiring very soon including frame work and top. On the turntable front, the turntable motor and fitting kit has started to be wired and tested. There is a battery kit with the motor kit but this wont be used as it will be easier just to use a transformer.

Next week hopefully providing im not on nights like the last two weeks we will be holding our AGM.
