Hello People,

I managed to get down tonight to see the latest updates within the club. I have not been able to get down lately due to working nights and also spending a week in beautiful North Wales. Me and the Mrs visited Pwllheli, Porthmadog aswell as Caernarfon and also took a ride on the Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog to Caernarfon.

Tonight there were 4 of us… Me, Keith, Peter and Alex.

We now have a new member called Peter from Tottington, who heard about us through one of the posters that i posted in Tottington Library and on the East Lancashire Railway Stations.

Anyway back to tonight and our progress…. Well…

With the start of 26E Bacup Shed Layout being in full swing, we have decided to clear some of the junk that had been aquired over the years and we also rearranged the desk to make more room to put Bacup Shed on the work top. The junk that has been removed includes items such as coffee jars, tubs and general rubbish.

On the frame side of things…. Bacup Shed now has 2x frames built.

There is the LHS frame which comes out at an angle to include the main line. The frame has now been glued and the mdf top has been placed on top, panel pinned down and left to dry. In order for this to sit on the work top another frame will have to be built for the layout frame to sit on due the difference in heights.

The middle frame which will be bolted to the LHS and RHS Frames is now built and has had the support pieces glued and screwed to give the frame strength.

Also we had a problem with the down line controller. It seems to be faulty as when you turn the controller down to 0 the train continues at full speed, so this has been removed to go back to gaugemaster for repair and replaced it was another controller as a temporay mesure. This will still allow us to run trains.

Also ive just ordered a turntable, motoring kit and 4x pits for the bacup shed layout which should be here in 2 days
