Hello,
Well this week has been a busy one with me working up in the beautiful lake district seeing all the views and also the snow covered mountains….not a bad life hey haha.
Me and Alex decided to pop down on Monday evening as I had a surprise for him to which he nearly fainted when he saw that i had aquired a box full of trackside items ranging from people, animals, wagon loads of coal sacks, barrels, crates to concrete pipes, fog man, telephone boxes, luggage trolleys, luggage trunks, milk churns, coal bunkers, ballast bunkers, dust bins and lots more. These were all made by Hornby Dublo and Merit items which were all neatly tucked away in match boxes.
A wagon is ready to leave Ramsbottom Paper Mill with a bundle load of paper on its flat bed.
We had been deciding weeks before that we needed to add a little bit more detail to the layout in the form of these items and it was only by chance that we managed to aquire them, so a Big thank you to the person involved :)
Most of Monday evening was spent deciding where to put it all and then glueing the items in place. Our mixed frieght trains now look the part with decent wagon loads heading to Bury and Beyond. Alex also managed to change a point that had bust a spring and i changed a push to make button that had decided its time was up.
A very large donation to the group.
Come Thursday we were showing the other members our recent aquirements to the group and good comments were had by all that it is looking good.
Alan spent most of the night adding yet more people to the cricket field with some bicycles to add to the mix.
I was busy finishing off Stubbins Street making the roofs look realistic with the reroofing that is more or less complete. Just a couple of more chimneys to add to the scene.
Alex was showing me the new program that he is making up, seems confusing at the moment with all these head codes but he understands it and reasures me that it will be simple to understand when he finishes it.
Keith changed another push to make switch on the front boards. These are used in conjunction with toggle switches and these being the command button. So these tend to ware out every so often.
Keith was mentioning that he would not mind running the layout one evening to which we decided that next week,…..the famous four will jump on the layout and try the program (existing) and have a fun night by all.

Bury Bolton Street on the Bury Bolton Street/Market Street Layout is brought out and soon be restored.
On Saturday, Me and Mark were asked to meet a Mr Flood and Mr Tate from the East Lancashire Railway down at a warehouse in bolton which is a store for the ELR. Here they have a layout which use to be housed in the Transport Muesum and the Bury Art Gallery. Mr Flood is an old member from RMRC and Mr Tate is active with the MMRS. The layout is stored in the far side of the warehouse unit and is in good solid condition considering its been apart from years. We dragged it out to assess its overall condition and its length. We will now wait and see to the next step of restoring this layout. The layout is based on Bury Bolton Street and Bury Market Street Stations in 00 gauge.
