Hello People,
Back fresh from a week of nights on the Norfolk Coast of Crommer on a Sainsbury’s so sorry I was not able to update people on our updates etc.
Well now back to our clubs goings on.
- Well only 5 down tonight with Me, Alex, Peter, Keith and Alan. No David this week.
- The dehumidifier and the little Crystal thing that is under the layout seem to be working wonders on the club house and are helping to combat the damp problem we seem to have.
- According to Keith he was impressed with the sockets that had mounted onto a board to go under the layout. These have now been fitted under everything is plugged in nicely. For anyone after any technical details they are 3x Double Metal Clad Sockets wired in 2.5mm LSF Twin and Earth Cable…just thought I would let you know.
- The idea is to eventually rewire all the 230v socket outlets and if possible replace these with some that are not 30-40 years old!!
- Keith and Alex have been working on the Up line of Accrington on the curved point. We like to call this Keith’s Jump as an inside joke between the members due to its camber. Well this has been sorted now and the gradient reduced. We even tried the Hornby Triang class 31 that originally derailed and fell on its side….which this time it didnt so sucess Keith well done!!
- The next section of 26E Bacup Shed Layout is now finished with the frame work mounted on its legs and bolted on to the next section. Pva glue was added and then panel pinned down. There will be a fourth section that will hold the turn table.
- Rogers wife Olive and family have kindly donated more of Rogers collection of scenery materials, locomotive spares, motors, point motors and more items. many of these items will appear on both layouts. A big thank you to Olibe and Family.
- Wilst we were sorting through Rogers stuff, I made a start on labelling tubs and pots that we keep items such as scenery materials, track pins, fish plates and other items to help make location easier to find.
Thanks for reading, hopefully see you all next week
Dan
